OPERATIONS MANAGERBilingual in Welsh and English
We seek a bilingual (Welsh and English speaking) Operations Manager who is great with people, knows about hotel operations and can lead a close-knit team.
The Hotel Portmeirion is the flagship hotel within the Portmeirion resort on the coast of Snowdonia. It is open all year with a 100-cover restaurant, 40-cover terrace and bar. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to organize, operate and control the day to day front of house operations. Answering to the Managing Director and Finance Director, the ideal candidate will be driven, revenue focused, a team leader and prepared to offer full commitment to this exciting role
This is a hands-on role where you will spend 90% of your time on the floor in the operation of the hotel. Most of this time would be supporting the food and beverage area of the business, with the rest of the time assisting other front of house areas.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD:
Be a hands-on manager who leads from the front with strong food and beverage service skills
Be personable and engaging, with great communication skills in Welsh and English, excellent leadership skills and well able to deal with any customer complaints
Oversee the hiring, managing and training of staff and ensure the team is always disciplined and professional
Maintain the budgeted wages to sales ratio.
Have strong IT skills and be able to use digital systems
