THE TERRACE

The hotel Portmeirion was originally the mansion of Aber Ia and the site of the present village, together with its dramatic wooded setting, formed the small estate around the house. It was built c1850 and was described in 1861 as:

'one of the most picturesque of all the summer residences to be found on the sea-coast of Wales.'

Today the Hotel Portmeirion's Victorian Terrace is the perfect place for a coffee or to relax and enjoy a drink with friends and family while taking in the views of the village above and the Dwyryd Estuary below

Private functions are held in the Hotel Portmeirion, on the terrace of the Hotel Portmeirion and Castell Deudraeth, this may result in them being fully or partially closed to the public, Please contact us on 01766 772440 or 392, to check availability.

We apologise if this causes any disappointment.

Lunch and Terrace Drinks

The Hotel Portmeirion serves drinks on the Terrace from 12:00 until 16:30pm Monday to Saturdays if the weather allows.

The Terrace does not open in wet or windy weather.

The Hotel Portmeirion operates it's popular lunch service between 12:00 and 14:00.

As Welsh weather is famously unpredictable, our Lunch service is currently served in the Hotel Restaurant. You are more than welcome to enjoy a pre-lunch beverage on the terrace before your reservation in fine weather.
