The main access route into Portmeirion Village is a tarmac road, however this is a sloped road/path.
Around the village grounds there are various terrains which include areas of; cobbles, slopes, steps, grass, sand and water.
As a company we have done our upmost to make the village accessible to all visitors, however due to Clough's vision of working with the land and nature, this has not been possible in all areas.
Due to Portmeirion's nature, alternative routes may be in place. We kindly ask that you asses the routes before proceeding to see if they are suitable for you personally.
For those using manual wheelchairs, we do advise that you visit with a suitable person to be able to assist you around the grounds and over the various terrains.
The wild woodlands, does have 20 miles of dedicated pathways however most of the paths will be unsuitable for mobility aids/wheelchairs/mobility scooters/prams or push chairs, due to the protruding tree roots, fallen leaves and uneven ground.
Please refer to our Access Plan at the bottom of this page, which will offer some guidance.
Cars are not permitted inside the village, and must be left in the relevant car parks (main car park or blue badge car park)
Visits to Portmeirion must be self guided, as we are unable to offer buggy assistance.
You may bring your own wheelchair/walking aid or mobility scooter to use within the grounds.
Windows and glass doors have contrast markings and steps are marked by high visibility markings.
Main information signs are in larger print and we offer several soundscapes throughout the Village as well as our new app which maybe downloaded.
Some areas of the venue are in low lighting. There are uneven footpaths around the Village, and we urge all visitors to take care when navigating these areas.
A discounted ticket, is available if a carer is required to assist you.
This discounted ticket is only valid for one person, and they must be accompanying a person who is the owner of a valid blue badge/PIP/DLA or equivalent DWP letter and requires assistance to visit.
Please bring proof with you of your entitlement. A clear photo of the front and rear of your valid blue badge is acceptable, as the original will need to be displayed in your car or a valid letter from DWP.
Please note that without valid proof, full price will be charged at the toll gate.
